Apples have been a mystical and religious fruit for millenniums often used as a symbol of knowledge, fertility and life. For me, this painting carries the energy of a warm summer day, laying on the ground next to the apple tree and looking at the warm blue sky. ☀️

In this piece, I am exploring how landscape painting relates to still life. Being fascinated with how our food grows and how disconnected we are from that process I have chosen to focus on the fruit while still on the tree rather than on the table.
